How and why did BYR start?

Bendigo Youth Racing was formed in December 2002 to continue designing, constructing and racing HPVs after completion of year 12.

Prior to the creation of BYR, there was no next step for young Bendigo people involved in HPVs after they left the school system. Involving more young people and providing them with opportunities is a key objective for Bendigo Youth Racing.

This growth is hoped to continue for many years to come. Prospective new members are approached both formally and informally at the end of each year and are chosen for their passion, workmanship and social compatibility with existing team members.

Bendigo Youth Racing has also created BYR Assist, where assistance and advice is provided to HPV teams in schools.
